| Q: What is the best way to ask your boss for a raise? I work in an office and I do everything that I am asked to do, even things that are demeaning and not in my job description. |

A: It is very hard to get over that fear factor of standing up for yourself, but do these few things: (1) Quantify, in measurable ways, how you help the company make more money that you cost it, and (2) research how comparable companies in your area pay employees to do what you do. Then formulate why you are worth more, and how much.
